    • Scooter weekend, a time to see friends, to laugh, to dance and have fun. In our little place, there was many a face, and room there simply was none. But people will stay, to dance nights away and boogie until very late. But please understand we serve as quick as we can and apologise that you have to wait x

     Sunday Afternoon
  •  A damp ride out but still people are smiling. Last full night of scooter greatness tonight with SOUL DIVAS. The ladies are in the house. A night of awesome tunage awaits :-)

  • Chris Willett yay at last ther be gone !
  •  Ian Sting Gardner Will be nice to get back to the usual friday and saturday night fun. Good to see the regulars again
  •  Suzanne Mackay C’mon guys, the king lud would n’t be TheKing Lud without the annual influx of Lovely Scooterists now would it? I have been trying to explain to them that we have busy busy friday and saturdays all year long now but they don’t believe me, we should encourage them to come sample some of our usual friday and saturdays
  •  TheKing Lud Mr willett so bitter for someone so young. Firstly we have to say that the street cleaning team do an AMAZING job at times like this. And as a business we really do appreciate the efforts you guys make to ensure it’s all spick and span before everyone wakes up each day. However these events, whether they’re your cup of tea or not are a complete necessity for the island. Scooter weekend, cowes week, festivals, all recieve some level of complaint from residents every year but without it all the island would be a very lonely, poor, sad little place and surely no one who lives here wants that.
  •  Ian Sting Gardner This sort of event doesn`t bother me. Am not into this sort of stuff but I think it`s ok as it`s only one time every year. Now it`s over, can get back to work during the week and Party down The Lud Fri and Sat with the usual faces :-) Coooool.
  • Michael Brierley thanks for making us all so welcome yet again, great people x
  • Chris Willett anyway the king luds a great place go ther people good food good music late nights n nice days
  • Michael Brierley you said it chris

     Dear TheKing Lud,
August 2011 was my very first Scooter Rally experience, to be honest I have always been a lover of racing (motor) bikes but when my friend (who has been going for ten years) invited me to the rally I thought hey why not, got nowt else planned for bank holiday weekend!
Pre turning up on the Isle of Wight I requested friendship of some facebook scooter pages and your’lovely’selves so could get the feel of what was to come, the conversations and comments were so passionate I was instantly drawn in.
Oh my days!!!!!! I had the best time, I have many people to thank for this and you are one of them.
Since moving down south and taking a pay drop in my wages I can understand concerns of the prices for this, that and tother but to be honest what hasn’t increased lately?
I find myself budgeting for everything…., but we cant change this so I try not to dwell on it.
THANK YOU TheKing Lud I am looking forward to seeing you again next year.
    xxxSee more

  • To conclude, it is Wednesday and most of the Scooterists have now gone home :(

We have “rebuilt” our little pub, the glasses are back, the bloomage is back, the sodden carpet has been cleaned, the place has been scrubbed, the full menu is back on and everybody has had a day off, apart from my handsome husband! We would sincerely like to thank all of the scooterists who travelled far and wide (and wet) , all of our locals and regulars, our amazing Family Lud, our babies and dogs for being such good girls and boys for  our busiest and most happy Scooter Rally to date!

We would also like to thank Dev and Suna from Greenhams, for emergency change and ice delivery, Ian and his team at the Cafe for emergency everything, Mr Clive  for daily support, Sue and her Team at The Chocolate Apothecary for Motivational Speaking and political support, the Esplanade would not manage such a huge event if it wasn’t for all of its small businesses WORKING TOGETHER. Awesome.

    URBAN…FOLK…GREATNESS…

Hailing from the Isle of Wight, Martin now lives in Hanwell West London where he has made it his home for the past ten years to pursue his talent. A graduate from The Guitar Institute of London he continues to teach others how to master a guitar when not on-stage himself.

A gifted singer and songwriter, he spent many years recording and performing in the band ‘The Goondocks’ before venturing out on his own in 2004 with ‘Going Home’. In 2009 the critically acclaimed ‘City Folk’ was released amidst raving reviews.

Having now shared the stage with Nerina Pallot, Newton Faulkner and Nik Kershaw it is hard to understand why he is still London’s best kept secret. A real live treat and the answer to modern folk playing at the one and only King Lud!
